Rolo the Cocker Spaniel has completed an Intensive Collect and Train course with our Guildford based trainer. Rolo's owners were really struggling with his engagement out on walks. He was pulling on the lead and he was disappearing off after every dog he saw. Whilst with us, he has learnt the value of his people and that they can be just as fun as new dogs. Rolo is now able to walk nicely on lead and come when called around new dogs and will invest his time in following his new obedience cues for his owners when out on a walk. Hugo the 12 week old Portuguese Pointer puppy has completed a 15 day residential course at Adolescent Dogs. He did half board and train whilst his owners were away and half Collect and Train when his owners were home During his time with us he learnt how to respond to sit, down on a hand signal, wait, leave it, heel, emergency stop and impluse control with toys. Hugo's owners had already made a great start at home using our online course which made it much easier to progress the behaviours and start work around distractions. While in for training Hugo also learnt how to stay focused in new busy environments and also how to settle in cafes and pubs. His owners will now receive hands on training to ensure that all of the training successfully transfers over to them, and they are local enough to come along to our weekly sniffer classes and weekend workshops for ongoing support! Blu the 14 month old Staffie has returned home after completing a 4 week Intensive Board and Train Course at Adolescent Dogs On arrival, Blu was very intense around new dogs and would instantly try and pin them down or mount them. After training, Blu is now able to respond nicely to his owners around dog distractions and follow new cues he has learnt during his stay. While in for training, Blu now has a much better reflex response to his name and is much better at coming back when called. He has learnt to have brief interactions with dogs to avoid him becoming over aroused and making bad choices. Walking Blu will now be far more enjoyable for his owners, now they have a better understanding on how to manage him around distractions.
