Junior Trainer Horley, Surrey

Alice is one of our Junior level trainers and is a valued member of the Adolescent Dogs team. She has a passion for training agility with her own dogs as well as teaching tricks and working with assistance dogs.

She has experience working with a variety of breeds and challenges through her past experiences working as a dog walker and boarder.

Alice offers training in her quiet, child-free family home and has 3 dogs of her own, including an elderly German Shepherd, a young Collie x Kelpie, both who are fully trained assistance dogs, as well as a Dachshund, making them great role models for the dogs who stay for training. She also lives with 2 cats, making her a popular choice for those wanting controlled socialisation opportunities.

She has easy access to livestock for specific livestock training (cows & sheep) and lives close by to woodland walks, open parks and the town centre. This means that Alice can customise your training to suit your specific needs, whether you live somewhere rural or in busy London

Alice is a member of the Pet Professional Guild, which means she believes in a positive training approach, utilising food, toys, praise and the environment to her advantage when training.

Tiger the Cavapoo has returned home after his 3 week stay with us. Tiger came to us to work on some of his unwanted behaviours towards other dogs and noise around his house & garden. Tiger did well with progressing his obedience cues, changing his reaction towards passing dogs, building his confidence when out and about and being quiet at home/in the garden. Well done Tiger ❤️🐾

Hugo the Miniature Schnauzer - 2 Weeks Residential Dog Training

Hugo the 7 month old Miniature Schnauzer has completed his 2 week residential training stay with us. During his stay he's been working hard at polishing off his obedience cues and reshaping his approach when he sees another dog whilst out and about. Hugo is a very happy young lad who used to think that every dog needed a loud hello whenever he'd see them. He's now learnt that not everyone appreciates his loud hello's and are much more likely to have a polite sniff, if he approaches calmly. But also that we are not going to say hello to every dog, sometimes we're going to walk past them nicely or remain in a stay whilst they pass us, without any added excitement barks from Hugo. His owners had put in a great amount of training with Hugo before his stay which allowed us to kick-start his training immediately 🌟 Due to Hugo's health issues it meant that understandably, his training took a back seat, so the training he had had was a bit muddled with his cues. His family wanted help with cue & marker consistency whilst he was on his holidays with us, to make transferring his new skills back to them, as easy as possible. Sticks & Stones the Siberian Husky's - 4 Weeks Residential Dog Training

Sticks and Stones the 8 month old Husky pups, have returned home after their 4 week residential training stay with us. As excitable young pups they struggled with anything that involved them staying still for more than 5 seconds and got easily distracted by each other during toilet trips, making toilet training a challenge. They've worked really hard during their stay and have made big progress in their confidence levels, as well as turning their listening ears on when outside. They've also done well with settling in the house as they found this to be quite challenging. They have also learnt how to ask to go outside for the toilet by either standing near the back door, kicking it or on occasion, barking at it, rather than just peeing on the floor mid-play session. Pickle the Bernese Mountain Dog puppy has completed her 2 week residential training stay Pickle’s owners wanted the absolute best for their puppy and have ensured to use our support whilst their girlie is growing up. Whilst she has been with us, we have been working really hard on her calming and settling skills. She found sleeping quite a frustrating part of her basic needs & was very needy, she would bark and nip for attention. Pickle is now much better at settling and really enjoys settling during a pub lunch or a coffee break. She now knows to take herself off to bed for a nap when tired or to chew a toy when she's bored. She has made tremendous progress at ignoring distractions and also observing the world around her, instead of trying to interact with everything. She has also been working hard on her recall and lead walking. These two key skills are very important to her owners, as Pickle will be a big girlie when she's fully grown and so needs be on her best behaviour, so as to not pull anyone over to say hi to other dogs or knocking people over by jumping up to say hello. Last but not least, she has also learnt all her key obedience skills, alongside understanding that barking & nipping isn’t the best way to get attention!!! Goldilocks the 2 year old Jackapoo has completed her 4 week top-up assistance dog residential training stay. Goldilocks' owners wanted to start some task training for her as well as work on her reactivity when out in public During her stay, her trainer has worked on teaching her to retrieve items from the floor and give them to hand as part of her assistance dog task training In addition to this, Goldilocks can be a bit spooky with sudden movements. So her trainer Has been working really hard on her calming and settling skills. She is now much better at settling and really enjoys settling during a pub lunch or a coffee break, without being too spooked by members of the public and dogs passing her. She has made tremendous progress at ignoring distractions and also observing the world around her, instead of trying to interact with everything. She has also been working hard on her lead walking. This is an area she struggled with but is an important key skill to her owners, as she is hoping to become an assistance dog. Last but not least, Goldilocks has been polishing off all her key obedience skills, alongside understanding that jumping isn’t the best and only way to say hello!!! Archie the Cavapoo has completed his 3 week residential training stay Whilst Archie has been with us, we have been working really hard on his calming and settling skills, especially around other dogs. Being a young lad, he was quite the velcro puppy and really disliked anytime he wasn’t being a lap dog, alongside this he found sleeping quite a frustrating part of his basic needs. He is now much better at settling and really enjoys settling during a pub lunch or a coffee break. He has made tremendous progress at settling around other dogs, ignoring distractions and also observing the world around him, instead of trying to interact with everything. He has also been working hard on his recall and lead walking, in particular around wildlife as he found this VERY exciting. These two key skills are very important to his owners, as he lives in London so a lot of the walking areas are next to busy main roads and having Archie be well mannered is essential for his safety and also allows them to enjoy their days out together. Last but not least, Archie had been learning all of his key obedience cues and is now much more reliable with his focus and understanding. Alongside this, we have helped Archie with understanding that jumping isn’t the best and only way to say hello!!! Luna the 8 month old Miniature Goldendoodle has completed her 3 week residential training stay with us. Whilst she has been with us, we have been working really hard on her calming and settling skills, especially around dogs & children. Being a young pup was quite the velcro puppy and really disliked anytime she wasn’t being someone's shadow, alongside this she found sleeping quite a frustrating part of her basic needs. She is now much better at settling and really enjoys settling during a pub lunch or a coffee break. She has made tremendous progress at ignoring distractions and also observing the world around her, instead of trying to interact with everything. Luna has also been working hard on her recall and lead walking. These two key skills are very important to her owners, as she lives with 3 children, so having her be well mannered is essential for everyone to enjoy their time out and about, being as stress-free as possible. Last but not least, Luna has been learning how to play fetch, as she had a habit of running after the ball and then taking it off to play on her own. During her stay she was taught how to play fetch, so the whole family can enjoy playing with her.
