Dog Boot Camp Programmes

Below is a list of all of the training programmes that we offer.   We always recommend that you book onto the longest stay that you can afford.  Afterall, the longer we have your dog, the more time we can put into teaching him new things and introducing him to working against distractions.  If you can only afford a short stay, we can discuss the training problems that you are having and what level you should expect to achieve.

Please remember that every dog is an individual and we can never guarantee how much your dog will learn or how reliable he will be at the end of his stay.  Unfortunately, we do not have a magic wand and your dog will never be 100% reliable after a boot camp stay as it simply is not enough time.  Dog Boot Camp is designed to put the essential groundwork in place, to teach your dog basic to advanced commands and to begin work with distractions.  There will always be a level of maintenance required at the end of your dogs stay and we always recommend that you sign your dog up for classes once your dog is home so that you can continue with his education.

Puppy groundwork

• Duration: 7 to 21 day stay
• Designed for: Puppy's between 8 weeks and 14 weeks old who need to kick start their training.
• Content: in the Puppy Groundwork programme, your puppy will learn our 12 week Puppy 1 and Puppy 2 syllabus in just 7 days.  Including: sit, down, leave it, basic loose lead walking, off lead heelwork, fetch, doorway manners, wait for dinner, drop, stay with distractions, down from a distance and the emergency stop.  We can also make a start on toilet training, play biting, chewing and jumping up.  In the longer stays, we also teach the chasing recall (recall from chasing dogs), stay out of sight, off lead heelwork over food, recall over food and loose lead walking through town.
• Expectations: In a 7 stay, your puppy will have a good understanding of the above commands when indoors.  In a 14 day stay, your puppy will have a good understanding of the above commands when outdoors, and in a 21 day stay, your puppy will begin to learn from the Puppy 3 advanced syllabus.  It is not possible to teach your puppy to listen to you 100% reliably when outdoors and around other dogs, so you must be prepared to continue your puppy's education via classes or 121 lessons in your area.
• Aftercare: 7 day stay: 2 hour handover.  14 day stay - 2 hour handover & 5 hours of 121 lessons.  21 day stay - 3 hour handover & 5 hours of 121 lessons.
• Price: 7 days - £595. 10 days - £825.  14 days - £1100.  21 days - £1550

Adult dog groundwork

• Duration: 14 to 30 day stay
• Designed for: Dogs between 15 weeks old and 6 years old.  
• Content: In the Adult Dog Groundwork Programme, your dog will learn our 12 week Puppy 1 and Puppy 2 syllabus in just 2 weeks (see above) and from the Puppy 3 syllabus in 3 weeks.  Puppy 3 includes: chasing recalls, stay out of sight and off lead heelwork.  We will also begin to work with your dog outdoors in public so that your dog starts to learn how to listen to commands when there are distractions.  Your dog will learn how to walk on a loose lead through town, recall in the woods and have manners when out in public.   
• Expectations:  In the 14 day stay, your dog will have a good understanding of the Puppy 1 & Puppy 2 commands and will be starting to learn how to respond to those commands when in a distracting environment.  In a 21 day stay, your dog will start to learn from the Puppy 3 syllabus and will have a better understanding of responding to you when around other dogs.  In a 30 day stay, we will work extensively outdoors and with distractions.  However, whilst we do work very hard with your dog, 2 to 4 weeks is not long enough to get true reliability with distractions, so you are encouraged to sign your dog up for some classes or 121 lessons at the end of your dogs stay to continue with his education if needed.
• Aftercare: 14 day stay - 2 hour handover & 5 hours 121 lessons.  21 day stay - 3 hour handover & 5 hours 121 lessons.
• Price: 14 days: £1100. 21 days - £1550. 30 day stay - £2114

Lead Training Only Programme

• Duration: 14 to 21 day stay
• Ideal if: Your dog pulls on the lead
• Content: In the Lead Training Only Programme, we work soley on teaching your dog how to walk on a loose lead.  We will teach your dog to walk nicely through the busy town centre, through Pets at Home and past people and dogs in the street.
• Expectations:  Results will depend alot on how old your dog is and what breed he is.  If your dog has been allowed to pull on the lead for months or years, then you might find that this type of stay will teach your dog how to walk on a loose lead, but he may still struggle when there are distractions. In which case, you will need to sign your dog up for some classes or 121 lessons so that you can continue his education afterwards.  However, if you have a particularly biddable dog or one that hasn't been pulling for very long, we can often teach these dogs to walk nicely on the lead regardless of the distraction, with only a little maintenance required when you get him home.
• Aftercare: Includes a 2 hour handover lesson, plus 5 additional hours or personal or group training classes for any additional handler lessons required. 
• Price: 14 days - £1100. 21 days - £1550

Recall Training Only Programme

• Duration: 14 to 21 day stay
• Ideal if: Your dog doesn't come when called
• Content: In the Recall Training Only Programme, we soley focus on teaching your dog how to come when called. Your dog will be taken on multiple walks per day to work on the recall problem on location.  Your dog will be taught: recall, the chasing recall, recall from playing with dogs and the emergency stop.  
• Expectations:. If your dog doesn't come back at all and has made a hobby out of chasing rabbits, then our longer stays are usually recommended.  It is impossible to get true reliability with a recall training problem in just 2 to 3 weeks, but what we can do, is teach your dog the essential exercises he needs in order to learn a reliable recall in the long run.   
• Aftercare: Includes a 2 hour handover lesson, plus 5 additional hours or personal or group training classes for any additional handler lessons required. 
• Price: 14 days - £1100. 21 days - £1550
