Advanced Class

The Advanced Class runs as a welcome addition to the Improvers course.  We recommend attending the Improvers course during the week at our indoor venue, and then coming along to the Advanced Class at the weekend at our outdoor venue.

This allows us to 'train' new behaviours indoors during the week, and then show you how to apply those behaviours practically outdoors.

Course content includes:

  • Controlling your dog with distractions
  • Walking on a loose lead around other dogs and people
  • Manners greeting people without jumping up
  • Teaching your dog to come when called when chasing dogs or rabbits (chasing recall)
  • Keeping your dog focused on you when outside
  • Teaching some fun behaviours such as tracking, searching and agility.

The classes swap between Blackheath Common Nr Guildford, Puttenham Common Nr Guildford and Guildford Town Centre. This will help to generalise the training to lots of different areas.  From the wildlife filled woodland, to the stark contrast of a busy town centre with people and traffic.

The course runs for 8 weeks and costs £85.

The next course start dates are as follows:

6 Week Improvers course starts Monday 6th September and Wednesday 8th September 8.30pm to 9.15pm  (See improvers page for more details)

8 Week Advanced Class then starts Saturday 24th October 11am to 12pm :  First class will be held at Blackheath Common, Blackheath Lane, Wonersh.

Customer Feedback

"This class is fantastic!! Mollie has already completed the beginners and improvers classes and in an enclosed environment does very well. HOWEVER being an excitable easily distracted Staffie, I have found it difficult to transfer her training into 'real life' situations outside. Working with other dogs in the Mixed Ability class in the 'real world' with support and advice from Jenny is an invaluable transition from indoor to outdoor. It was also great to be able to do training then go on the social walk afterwards, giving Mollie a playtime reward after the training class."

(Jane Martin with Mollie - Staffie)

"Poppy has been much more relaxed with other dogs since going on the mixed ability class. She can be aggressive, but Jenny gave me confidence by helping show me what Poppy's issues were and how to deal with them" (Jean Davis with Poppy- JRT)
