(Our Improvers course currently fills up very quickly so early booking is a must)
The improvers course is ideal for those who wish to learn more than the basics and progress to a higher standard with their dog. It is recommended that your dog has passed a beginners course or equivalent home training. Your dog should know the basic sit, down, stay and basic lead walking and come when called. The class size is limited to 8 dogs with two qualified instructors, so there's plenty of one to one help. As well as improving on previous learnt skills, the 6 week course will teach your dog to: - Come when called away from other dogs
- Walk on a loose lead with distractions
- Stop in an emergency
- Control at a distance (drop on cue)
- Impulse control - stay with dogs running past
- Leave food offered by a stranger
- Down stay out of sight
- Patience Training
- Drop any object on cue
- Send Away (useful when you want to eat dinner in peace)
And will include: - Scent detection (locating a scent hidden in a room)
- Fun basic agility (tunnels)
Course cost: £70
Course runs on Wednesday in Guildford at 8.30pm-9.15pm Venues - Guildford venue: Park Barn Community Centre, Cabell Road, Guildford, GU2 8JH
