ADOLESCENT DOGS - Puppy 3 Unleashed

Off Lead Control / Advanced Distractions

ZyWeb

About Puppy 3

We run classes at our Guildford and Farncombe venues.

Puppy 3 is a combination of total off lead control and distraction training.

Who is it for?

Puppy 3 Unleashed is the next level up from an intermediate class.  So this class is open to all graduates of Puppy 2.  Despite being called Puppy 3, there is no upper age limit and those who have completed training to the level of Puppy 2 elsewhere can also sign up.

When to start?

It is recommended that you book onto Puppy 3 as soon as your dog has completed Puppy 2.  We recommend leaving the shortest gap possible between courses.

What we teach

Puppy 3 will teach your dog discipline and control when off lead and around distractions.

ZyWeb

Your dog will learn:

  • Emergency Stop - with your dog running away from you
  • Off lead Impulse Control
  • Chasing recall - call your dog away from chasing dogs, people or wildlife
  • Recall from playing with another dog
  • Recall away from people with food
  • Walking to heel off lead around distractions
  • Recall to heel (join you in the heel position off lead)
  • Intensive jumping up prevention training
  • Extensive distance control exercises
  • Rock Solid Stays with moving dog distractions

Part 3 will help you to continue with training learnt in Puppy 2, as well as extending the exercises to include more realistic distractions and training scenarios.

We help you to teach your adolescent dog to be calmer, more attentive and to be more willing to respond to commands quickly and happily.

Class Structure

Puppy 3 is almost entirely off lead to ensure that your dog learns to listen to you when the lead is not attached.

This class is highly motivational, sharing inspirational techniques to get the best from your dog when faced with some of the most challenging distractions.

We focus on all of the key areas of training that most dogs struggle with and put it together in an 8 week intensive package.  This course is absolutely ideal to attend along side the outdoor workshops.

Training Methods

Much of the Puppy Part 3 is focused on using very high value rewards to teach your dog what is expected of him in a highly distracting environment.  We show you how to get the best out of the rewards you use, how to make rewards more rewarding and how to motivate your dog to respond quickly and efficiently.
